ΚΠ
1948 J. H. Wanscher in Yearbk. Royal Vet. & Agric. Coll. Denmark 7 As allospecies (allogamospecies) we may call species which reproduce allogamously. The majority of plant species belong to this category. The allospecies are the most heterogeneous and, from an evolutionary and ecological point of view, the most formative and adaptable.
1963 P. H. Davis & V. H. Heywood Princ. Angiosperm Taxon. xiii. 460 Similar considerations apply to other systems, such as that distinguishing between allo-species, auto-species and apo-species, genospecies, plerospecies, etc.

1966 D. Amadon in Systematic Zool. 15 246/1 Let us therefore in the future use ‘semispecies’ in this emended sense of Mayr and Lorkovic. For the species comprising a superspecies, left without a name, I propose the term ‘allospecies’.
1986 E. K. Urban et al. Birds Afr. II. p. xii/1 Such geographical replacement species, or allospecies,..together constitute a superspecies.
2006 Jrnl. Mammalogy 87 1238/1 Allopatric taxa can be deemed worthy of consideration as allospecies if at least 1 character is fully diagnostic or if taxa are fully diagnosable by a combination of 2 or 3 characters.
