释义 | druminen. Chemistry. Now historical and rare. A substance extracted from the Australian spurge Euphorbia drummondii and claimed to act as a local anaesthetic. Reported as having been discovered by Dr John Reid in 1886, the efficacy of drumine as a local anaesthetic was soon disputed and it was shown to consist chiefly of calcium oxalate.
