Designating the last interglacial stage of the Pleistocene in northern Europe, typified by deposits found near the River Eem in the Netherlands; of or relating to this stage.The Eemian interglacial corresponds approximately to the Ipswichian interglacial in Britain and the Riss-Würm interglacial in the Alps.
