Etymology: < empirio- comb. form + critical adj., originally after German empiriokritisch ( R. Avenarius Kritik der reinen Erfahrung (1888) 12), in later use after empirio-criticism n.
Philosophy.
In early use: that is both empirical and critical. Later: relating to or characterized by empirio-criticism (see empirio-criticism n.).
