Etymology: < scientific Latin epidemiographia (1843 or earlier) < ancient Greek ἐπιδήμιος among the people, (of disease) prevalent, epidemic (see epidemy n.) + scientific Latin -graphia -graphy comb. form.Compare French épidémiographie (1824 or earlier), German Epidemiographie (1841 or earlier).

Now somewhat rare.

Originally: the description of epidemics or an epidemic disease, esp. from a historical perspective; an instance of this.
