Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek ἐπιστολογράϕος letter-writer, secretary ( < ancient Greek ἐπιστολή (see epistle n.) + -γραϕος -graph comb. form) + -er suffix1. Compare French épistolographe (1599 or earlier in Middle French as epistolographe).
Chiefly literary. rare.
