Etymology: < Latin epithalamium, < Greek ἐπιθαλάμιον, neuter of ἐπιθαλάμιος, < ἐπί upon + θάλαμος bride chamber.
A nuptial song or poem in praise of the bride and bridegroom, and praying for their prosperity.
