Origin: A borrowing from Italian. Etymon: Italian espresso macchiato.
Etymology: < Italian espresso macchiato, lit. ‘stained espresso’ < espresso espresso n. + macchiato stained (see caffè macchiato n.).
Espresso coffee served with a very small amount of hot or foamed milk; a drink of this.
