Etymology: < Greek εὐδιάλυτος easily dissolved, < εὐ- (see eu- comb. form) + διαλύειν to dissolve (see dialyse v.); the name refers to the solubility of the mineral in hydrochloric acid.

Mineralogy.

A vitreous bisilicate of zirconium, iron, calcium, sodium, and other elements, occurring in rhombohedral crystals, rose pink or brownish red; first found at Kangerdluarsuk in Greenland. Cf. eucolite n.
