Etymology: < medieval Latin euphrasia (irregularly eufragia ), < Greek εὐϕρασία , lit. ‘cheerfulness’, < εὐϕραίνειν to cheer, < εὐ- (see eu- comb. form) + ϕρήν mind. Compare French eufraise.
