Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin antennarius.
Etymology: < scientific Latin antennarius (1798) < classical Latin antenna antenna n. + -ārius -ary suffix1. Compare earlier antennal adj. N.E.D. (1885) also gives the pronunciation (æ·ntėnări) /ˈæntɪnərɪ/.
Chiefly Zoology.
Of, relating to, or of the nature of antennae.
