单词 fee-faw-fum
释义

fee-faw-fumn.

Brit. /ˌfiːˌfɔːˈfʌm/, U.S. /ˌfiˌfɔˈfəm/, /ˌfiˌfɑˈfəm/
Forms:

α. 1600s fy fo and fum.

β. 1600s fie foh fumme, 1600s–1800s fee fa fum, 1700s–1800s fee fo fum, 1700s– fee faw fum, 1700s– fe fo fum.

γ. 1700s– fe fi fo fum, 1800s– fee fie fo fum, 1800s– fee fi fo fum.

Origin: Probably formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: fie int., faugh int., English fum , and conj.1
Etymology: Probably < fie int. + faugh int. + the arbitrary syllable fum, in α. forms with insertion of and conj.1 before the final element. The γ. forms probably show reduplication of the first element in a variant spelling.
