Usually written with numerical symbol for the first element.The capital letter H appears four times on the organization's four-leaf clover insignia, in correspondence with its motto and pledge. The full pledge, adopted officially in 1927, is as follows: ‘I pledge my Head to clearer thinking, my Heart to greater loyalty, my Hands to larger service, and my Health to better living, for my club, my community, and my country’ (the final phrase was revised in 1973 to ‘my country and my world’).
