Forms: Also findhorn, findram, fintrum, findon, finnon.
Etymology: A place-name used attributively, apparently originally the name of the river Findhorn, or of a place so called on its banks; but confused with Findon, the name of a village in Kincardineshire.
A haddock cured with the smoke of green wood, turf, or peat earth. More fully finnan-haddock (-haddie), finnan-spelding.
