Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek ἀνθρωποϕυής , -ism suffix.
Etymology: < ancient Greek ἀνθρωποϕυής of human nature ( < ἀνθρωπο- anthropo- comb. form + ϕυή growth, nature < the same base as ϕύειν to produce, (passive and intransitive) to grow: see physis n.) + -ism suffix.
