释义 | foul linen. Sport (originally North American). 1. Baseball and Softball. Either of the lines extending from the back of home plate through first base and third base, respectively, which serve as boundary lines for determining whether or not a batted ball is foul or fair (see foul ball n. 2a). Cf. foul pole n.The foul lines themselves are considered to be in fair territory (see fair territory n.).
