Etymology: < classical Latin fulgurant-, fulgurāns, present participle of fulgurāre fulgurate v. Compare Middle French, French fulgurant (of pain, a disease, etc.) intense (1488), that flashes like lightning (1845).
Flashing or dazzling like lightning. Also figurative.
