单词 frundel
释义

frundeln.

Forms: 1500s frondaille, frundle, 1500s–1600s frundel(l, 1600s frundele.
Etymology: apparently a variant of farundell, farthingdeal n.
Obsolete.
A dry measure; by Ray said to be equal to two pecks. Quot. a1642 seems to identify the frundel and the peck. This appears more probable than Ray's statement, if the word means etymologically ‘quarter’ (of a bushel); but the discrepancy may admit of being explained, as Ray mentions the existence of a ‘bushel’ twice as large as the standard bushel.
