Chemistry.

Any glycoside in which the sugar is galactose.Galactosides consist of galactose (which adopts a cyclic structure) bonded to another molecule (the aglycone). Bonding can take place on either side of the plane of the galactose molecule, giving stereoisomeric forms known as α- and β-galactosides.
