Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Arab adj.1, -ize suffix.
Etymology: < Arab adj.1 + -ize suffix. In sense 2 after French arabiser (1689 (in the passage translated in quot. 1689) or earlier in this sense; 1637 in sense ‘to speak Arabic’). Compare Arabicize v. With sense 3 compare earlier Arabized adj.
