Goutweed, Aegopodium podagraria (family Apiaceae), a perennial flowering plant found in moist, shaded environments, having erect triangular stems, broad toothed leaves, and umbels of small white flowers. Also called ashweed, ground elder, herb Gerard. Goat weed is native to Eurasia but has been widely introduced elsewhere as an ornamental garden plant and is now regarded as a weed and invasive species in North America and Australia.
