Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek γράμματ- , γράμμα , -ology comb. form.
Etymology: < ancient Greek γράμματ-, γράμμα letter (see grammar n.) + -ology comb. form. In sense 2 after French grammatologie (J. Derrida De la grammatologie (1967)).
