1852 S. Davidson Treat. Biblical Crit. I. xiv. 238 The Targum on the five Megilloth, viz. Canticles, Ruth, Lamentations, Esther, Ecclesiastes, can scarcely be called a translation. It is rather a hagadical commentary, containing numerous additions, allusions to Israelitish history, fables, and legends.
