Origin: Probably a borrowing from early Scandinavian. Etymon: Norse arðr.
Etymology: Probably < Old Norse arðr plough, probably < Latin aratrum ; compare also Gaelic arad plough, and ardar plough, ardur ploughman, in West Cornwall Gloss. Compare ardagh n.
Obsolete.
