Origin: A borrowing from Greek. Etymon: Greek Ἑλλαδικός.
Etymology: < ancient Greek Ἑλλαδικός of or from Greece < Ἑλλαδ- , Ἑλλάς Greece (see Helladian adj.) + -ικός -ic suffix. Compare classical Latin Helladicus , French Helladique (1699 or earlier), German helladisch (1770 or earlier). Compare slightly earlier Helladian adj.
