1922 A. L. Guérard Short Hist. Internat. Lang. Movement ii. vi. 137 Idiom Neutral is entirely based on the principle of greatest internationality, at least so far as root-words are concerned.
1994 Art Bull. 76 341/2 Dissension broke out..between those who harbored literary pretensions, and those who demanded a stripped-down version of Volapük for business. As they battled for the language's soul, some adherents splintered off, eventually to form Idiom Neutral in 1902.
