Etymology: < post-classical Latin impertransibilis impermeable, impassable (from 13th cent. in British sources; also in continental sources) < im- im- prefix2 + pertransibilis (see pertransible adj.). Compare slightly earlier impertransibility n. Compare also earlier pertransible adj.
Obsolete.
That cannot be passed through or crossed; impenetrable (literal and figurative).
