Etymology: < arsehole n. + -ed suffix2.P. Beale Partridge's Dict. Slang (ed. 8, 1984 ) relates this word to the phrase (as) pissed as arseholes, perhaps via an adjective arseholes (both said to date from the 1940s, although first recorded by Partridge in 1961).
British slang.
Extremely drunk.
