This mineral has hitherto been identified as cordierite; but..it is a distinct species, to which the name ‘indialite’ is proposed.

1972 M. H. Battey Mineral. for Students 254/1 Indialite, a dimorph of cordierite, is isostructural with beryl.

2007 Rocks & Minerals (Nexis) 82 319 Sakura ishi are mica pseudomorphs of intergrowths of cordierite and its dimorph, indialite.
