Etymology: originally intermixt , < Latin intermixtus , past participle of intermiscēre to mix among, intermingle, < inter between, among + miscēre to mix, mingle. After the formation of the verb intermix , intermixt was treated as its past participle and gradually spelt intermix'd , intermixed : compare commixed adj.
Mixed together, intimately mixed, intermingled.
