Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Aryan adj., -ize suffix.
Etymology: < Aryan adj. + -ize suffix.With sense 2 compare German arisieren to make ‘Aryan’ (1936 or earlier with reference to personal status and property ownership in areas under Nazi control (now historical); earlier with reference to the cultural and linguistic influence of the ancient Aryan people or their perceived descendants (1898; now obsolete)); in the specific Nazi uses, the German noun Arisierung was more common than the verb and is apparently attested slightly earlier (see Aryanization n.).
1. transitive. To bring (a people, region, language, etc.) under the cultural and linguistic influence or dominance of the prehistoric Aryan peoples; to assimilate to the ancient Aryans. Chiefly in passive.Now less common than sense 2.

a. transitive. To exclude people not considered to be Aryan, esp. Jewish people, from (an organization, position, etc.); to impose a mandatory transfer of (Jewish-owned or Jewish-controlled businesses, property, etc.) to the ownership or control os people considered to be Aryan.
