Etymology: Apparently < jet v.2 (compare jet v.2 6a, and also jetting n.3) + -ed suffix1, with reference to the fact that the outside seam juts out over the edge. Compare jetted adj.1
Tailoring.
Of a pocket: finished on either edge with an outside seam or jetting (jetting n.3) and typically without a flap.
