单词 jollop
释义

jollopn.1

/ˈdʒɒləp/
Forms: Also jowlop, ? jellop: see jolloped adj.
Etymology: apparently < jowl n.2, joll, jole + *lop, lap n.1 2: compare dewlap n., which also occurs in the same or a cognate sense ( 1b). (It is tempting to conjecture that dewlap itself, of which the first element is unexplained, may have originated in some popular perversion of jowlap or jewlap; but at present this is not supported by evidence or analogy.)
The wattle of a cock, turkey, or other fowl.
