Origin: A borrowing from Sanskrit.
Etymology: < Sanskrit karmayoga (also with vernacular pronunciation karmayog ) < karman action, religious obligation (see karma n.) + yoga connection, application, effort (see yoga n.).
Hinduism.
Action carried out in fulfilment of one's religious, social, and moral obligations, viewed as a means of attaining moksha (moksha n.). Cf. karma-marga n.
