单词 | kelvin replenisher |
释义 | > as lemmasKelvin replenisher 2. A device for increasing or maintaining an electrostatic charge. Also Kelvin replenisher. Now historical.A replenisher consists of two curved metal plates at each end of a rotating arm that carries them between two larger fixed plates. The two outer plates are given opposite charges, which induces inversely opposite charges on the inner plates. Metal wipers or springs on the plates mean that when the inner plates make a half turn their induced charge is transferred to the similarly charged outer plate, whose total charge is thereby increased.
