Lezginn.adj.Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly a borrowing from French. Partly a borrowing from Russian. Etymons: French Lesgien, Lesguine; Russian lezgin. Etymology: In α. forms (i) < French Lesgien, noun (1728 in the passage translated in quot. 1728 at sense A. 1; < post-classical Latin Lesgi + French -ien -ian suffix); compare -ian suffix. In β. forms (ii) < French Lesguine, Lezghine, noun (1826 or earlier; < Russian lezgin (see below)); compare -ine suffix1.
