Origin: A borrowing from Greek. Etymon: Greek αὐτοκρατορικός.
Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek αὐτοκρατορικός < ancient Greek αὐτοκράτωρ autocrator n. + -ικός -ic suffix. Compare later autocratorical adj.Ιn quot. 1964 translating Russian samovlastitel′nyj autocratic (1817 in Pushkin's ode Volnost′, the source translated in the quot., or earlier).
Now rare.
