XXX. 283/2 The efficiency of the Linde process is small, but it is easily conducted and only requires plenty of cheap power. 1928 J. K. Roberts Heat & Thermodynamics v. 111 Much less preliminary cooling is necessary to liquefy a gas by the Linde method than by the Cascade process. 1937 M. W. Zemansky Heat & Thermodynamics xiv. 251 In the Linde process for the production of liquid air, the initial temperature, initial pressure and final pressure are chosen so that, after passing through a throttling valve, a drop in temperature is produced. 1968 B. Asinger Paraffins ii. 105 After the removal of carbon dioxide and benzene by washing, coke-oven gas is liquefied by the Linde process, all the constituents except the hydrogen and some nitrogen condensing.
