Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin locus in quō.
Etymology: < classical Latin locus in quō the place in which < locus place (see locus n.1) + in (see in prep.) + quō , ablative of quī which (see who pron.).
1. Law. The location at which an alleged trespass has been committed, or where a distraint has been made. Now also more generally: the scene of an alleged offence or disputed event.
