Etymology: < macro- comb. form + cyclic adj. (see quot. 19261 at sense 1). Compare microcyclic adj.
1. Botany. Of a rust fungus: having a life cycle characterized by production of all five of the possible spore types, or more spore types than teliospores and basidiospores.
