Origin: A borrowing from Italian. Etymon: Italian mancinismo.
Etymology: < Italian mancinismo left-handedness, mancinism (1884 in the title of C. Lombroso Sul Mancinismo motorio e sensorio nel sano, nel pazzo, sordo-muto, cieco nato e criminale) < mancino (1396; < manco (see manqué adj.) + -ino -ine suffix1) + -ismo -ism suffix.

The state or condition of having a bias in some way towards the left-hand side of the body; (frequently) spec. ‘left-handedness’.
