Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from Latin. Or (ii) a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin manerialis ; Latin manerium , -al suffix1.
Etymology: Either < post-classical Latin manerialis relating to a manor (1322 in a British source, isolated attestation), or independently < post-classical Latin manerium or a similar form (see manery n.) + -al suffix1.
Now historical and rare.
