Etymology: < scientific Latin Medusidae (see medusid n.) + -an suffix; compare -idan suffix. Compare later medusid n. N.E.D. (1906) gives the pronunciation as (mĭdiū·sidăn) /mɪˈdjuːsɪdən/.
Zoology. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
