Etymology: < French marocain Moroccan (although only attested from 1924 in this specific sense in the collocation crêpe marocain ) < Maroc Morocco n. + -ain -an suffix, as re-formation of earlier Maroquin (see maroquin adj.). Compare maroquin adj., Moroccan adj.
A ribbed crêpe fabric of silk or wool or both; a garment made from this fabric. Also attributive or as adj.
