Etymology: < post-classical Latin meconologia (1679 in the dictionary translated in quot. 1684) < Hellenistic Greek μηκωνο- , combining form (in e.g. μηκωνοϕόρος opium-bearing) of ancient Greek μήκων poppy (see meconium n.) + post-classical Latin -logia -logy comb. form. N.E.D. (1906) gives the pronunciation as (mīkŏnǫ·lŏdʒi) /miːkəˈnɒlədʒɪ/.

Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
