Etymology: < post-classical Latin mediatric-, mediatrix mediatrix n.: see -trice suffix. Compare Middle French mediatrice (c1480).The plural mediatrices is formally indistinguishable from the plural of mediatrix n.: the instance in quot. 1842 may belong at that entry instead.
Now rare or non-naturalized.
