Chemistry.

1. A crystalline terpenoid alcohol found in peppermint and other natural oils, whose odour and taste produce a characteristic cooling sensation, used medicinally in decongestants and analgesics, and as a flavouring; 2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol, C₁₀H₁₉OH.
