单词 mi
释义

min.

Brit. /miː/, U.S. /mi/
Forms: late Middle English–1500s my, late Middle English– mi, 1600s 1800s– me.
Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin mi.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin mi (11th or early 12th cent.; c1330 in a British source), shortened < classical Latin mīra wonders, miracles (see note s.v. gamut n.), use as noun of neuter plural of mīrus extraordinary, remarkable (see miracle n.). Compare Old French mi (c1223).In the tonic sol-fa frequently in form me.
Music.
In the system attributed to Guido d'Arezzo: the third note of a hexachord; (hence also) any sharpened note, treated as if the third degree of a corresponding hexachord; (also, in later solmization, and in the movable-doh and tonic sol-fa systems) the third note of the major scale, or the fifth note of the minor scale. Also, in the fixed-doh system: the note E natural (rare). In some systems of solmization, flattening of the third note of the scale is indicated by the use of ma instead of mi.
