Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: meta- prefix, kinetic adj.
Etymology: < meta- prefix + kinetic adj. (see quot. 1890 at sense 1). In sense 3 after German metakinetisch (J. Versluys 1910, in Zool. Jahrb. (Anat.) 30 208). Compare metakinesis n.

Similarly, we may call concomitant manifestations of the mental or conscious order ‘metakinetic’, and may use the term ‘metakinesis’ for all manifestations belonging to this phenomenal order.
