Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek μισογυνία < ancient Greek μισογύνης (see misogynist n.) + -ία -y suffix3. Compare Italian misoginia (1598 in Florio), French misogynie (1812), German Misogynie (1789 or earlier).
Hatred or dislike of, or prejudice against women.
